Ongoing Parent Support Services

The hard work of parenting requires ongoing support. We need this to think well, connect often, work through emotional projects, and lead our families. To provide the kind of support needed, I have created some programs that can help you get closer to becoming the family you always dreamed of.

Weekly Parent Skillbuilding and Support Group via Telephone

You deserve support for the hard work of parenting. We know you are busy, so the convenience of telephone support with other parents around the world can be just what you need.

In order for us to listen well and connect with our children in a deep way that our children can internalize, we need support. Join this Parent Listening Support Group to work on the worries, fears and frustrations that come up for us as parents. Whether you are new to Listening Partnerships, you just need someone to listen to you or you want to learn more Listening skills, this group can be very helpful to you. You can work on specific areas of challenge, including sleep issues, aggression, sibling rivalry, picky eaters, separation anxiety, lack of cooperation or any other challenges you may be facing. Each participant will get a ten minute turn to be listened to with respect and warmth and without judgment.

The program is limited to 6 participants. All meetings are held by phone. Your location can be anywhere in the world. All calls are led by Certified Parenting by Connection Instructor, Kristen Volk.

I am currently running 2 groups, a Thursday Group for Moms Navigating Divorce and Single Parenting and a Friday Group. Please see the information below.

Thursdays: Moms Navigating Divorce and Single Parenting

The sessions are on Thursdays beginning at 10:00 am Pacific time (1:00 pm Eastern, 12:00 pm Central, 11:00 am Mountain). The sessions will last 30-90 minutes depending on the number of participants on the call.

Fridays: No Special Circumstances. All are Welcome.

The sessions are on Fridays beginning at 10:00 am Pacific time (1:00 pm Eastern, 12:00 pm Central, 11:00 am Mountain). The sessions will last from 30-90 minutes depending on the number of participants on the call.

Skillbuilding Group in Denver

Whether you took the Starter Class years ago or you completed it last week, you are welcome to a Skillbuilding Group.

In this group you will be able to ask questions about the challenges in your family, get some fresh Hand in Hand Parenting ideas, work on an Emotional Project, and receive supportive group listening time. This Skillbuilding Group is open to anyone who has taken a Hand in Hand Parenting Starter class (formerly "Building Emotional Understanding"). This is when you get to delve deeper into the work of Hand in Hand Parenting and get support for the hard work you do as a parent. This is also a process of sharing support where we learn from each other as parents and as human beings to build the community we were meant to have.

The next Skillbuilding group is TBD.

This class is limited to 7 participants.

Summer Support Program 2018
